About Us
BAAML, Bay Area Association of Muslim Lawyers, was founded in
September 2001, two weeks after September 2001, by a small group of
lawyers and law students to respond to backlash discrimination and
hate crimes.
Mission Statement:
The purposes of BAAML are as follows:

- To improve and enhance the legal profession, within the
meaning of § 501(c)(6) of the Internal Revenue Code, through
serving the educational and professional needs of Muslim
lawyers, legal professionals, and law students; - To serve as a legal resource for Muslim communities and
others in our society; and - To educate and advocate for Muslims and other people
regarding their constitutional, , civil and human rights.
